Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, has welcomed an announcement by NHS North Central London that work is now underway on the rebuilding of Brunswick Park Health Centre. The old health centre was destroyed by fire in January 2010.
The new health centre is expected to take six months to complete and will be more spacious and include more facilities than the previous building. Discussions are also underway about what additional services can be provided to the local community from the new health centre.
Theresa said, “It is great news that work is finally underway on the new health centre. The new building will mean that Brunswick Park Ward residents will have access to the most up-to-date facilities and first class health care. It’s also great to hear that Dr Okonkwo and his team are returning and are keen to move into the new centre.”
“Over the coming months, I will be keeping up the pressure to ensure the building work is completed on time and I look forward to it opening.”
Councillor Andreas Tambourides added, “Residents in Brunswick Park Ward have had a long wait for a new health centre. In some cases they have had to travel quite a distance to access other practices, so it is very welcome news that the end is sight and residents will have their health centre back in a matter of months.”
