Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, supported Mitzvah Day events today, with a visit to JCcoSS school in East Barnet to help pupils with their toy drive for Noah's Ark Children's Hospice and other activities.
Commenting on the day's activities, Theresa said: "Mitzvah Day is a great opportunity for people to give something back to their community. I've been taking part in Mitzvah Day events for some years now. I enjoyed my visit to JCoSS today to show my support once again."
"I pay tribute to the efforts made by JCoSS pupils and teachers to collect toys for children who are looked after by Noah's Ark Children's Hospice. It's a wonderful charity. I thank everyone in my constituency who has put time aside to help good causes over the Mitzvah Day weekend."
During her visit, Theresa helped JCoSS pupils and head teacher, Patrick Moriarty, with making bunting for a forthcoming event for Noah's Ark and with preparation of Camp Simcha balloons to be delivered to sick children.Camp Simcha is a charity with supports children with cancer.
JCoSS is the UK's first ever cross community Jewish secondary school. As well as supporting Noah's Ark, pupils are donating CDs/DVDs for Tzedek’s ‘CDs Seed Hope’ project and learning about issues of poverty in Africa and Asia.
