Barnet’s schools are among the best in the country:
- In 2015/2016 Barnet’s primary schools were in the top 20% nationally for reading, spelling, grammar & punctuation and maths.
- In August 2016, 95% of primary school pupils and 93% of secondary school pupils attend schools rated good or outstanding by Ofsted.
- All of Barnet’s regeneration schemes include the rebuilding of schools to give increased spaces and modern facilities.
- Barnet is meeting the increased demand for school places by investing in new schools and expanding existing ones.
- Barnet Conservatives will continue to work for a fair share of national and regional resources for our schools.
- Cllr Caroline Stock has been working to get Barnet's children exercising as part of the Mayor of Barnet's Golden Kilometre, where children and teachers walk or run a kilometre a day.
Caroline said: “In Barnet a shocking 17% of our children are obese. Barnet’s children are Barnet’s future, and we will be doing all we can to ensure that they are healthy, happy, and able to leave school and face the world with a good education behind them.”
